Meet the Doctors
Lewis H. Richardson, DDS
For 37 years, Dr. Richardson has been creating beautiful
smiles with a personal touch. A native of Ohio, he attended Ohio State
University from 1962 to 1970 receiving his dental degree. Upon graduating he
entered the United States Navy. Dr. Richardson spent two years in San Diego
caring for the dental needs of his fellow military men and women. After leaving
the armed services, he moved to the Monterey Bay area in 1972 and opened a
dental practice. Dr. Richardson has been working to develop an excellent, family
dental practice ever since.
Over the past 37 years, he has spent thousands of hours in seminars, and other
continuing education courses in order to stay current on advances in the
continuously changing dental field. Dr. Richardson is an active member of the
American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Monterey
Bay Dental Society, where he served as president in 1984-1985. Dr. Richardson
has also served the community as a past president of the Salinas Area United
Way.
Dr. Richardson loves to spend time with his patients and team members and can't
imagine his life without them. When not practicing dentistry, he enjoys hiking,
trying new restaurants, gourmet cooking and being a grandpa to all of "the
grandchildren" that his team has provided for him. Dr. Richardson has been
married to his wife, Kate, for seven years. He also has two grown daughters,
Ashley and Jenny. Both girls live in the greater Los Angeles area close to the
beach. Ashley works for a vitamin supplement company as their Marketing Director
and Jenny is a Speech Therapist specializing in pre-school children.
Cesar J Escudero, DDS
Dr. Cesar Escudero was raised in San Jose, CA. He
attended Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, where he completed his
undergraduate education in 1989. He then continued his education at the
University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, where he received
his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1993. Dr. Escudero has continued his
education by completing many hands on courses at the Seattle Institute for
Advanced Dentistry, the Academy of Adhesion Dentistry, and the 3i Implant
Synergy Training Program. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the
California Dental Association, the Santa Clara Dental Society, the Academy of
Osseointegration, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of Adhesion
Dentistry. Dr. Escudero has a passion and gift for Cosmetic and Reconstructive

Dr. Escudero met his wife, Dr. Torres, in dental school and they were married in
1997. They have two young children that keep them very busy with various
activities. When not working, Dr. Escudero enjoys spending time with his family,
fly fishing, hiking, camping and photography.
Meet the Team
April Hoops, Registered Dental Hygienist
April has been working with us since 1995. She graduated
from Cabrillo College's Dental Hygiene Program in 1995 and started working here
as a registered dental hygienist shortly after that. One of her favorite things
about her job is the relationships she has formed with our patients over the
years. April is extremely dedicated to her patients and caring for their dental
health. April has built such an incredible rapport with her patients that they
often come in just to talk with her.
April met her husband, Thomas in 1997 and they married two years later. Thomas
was one of her patients. April and Thomas have two beautiful daughters and a
little boy on the way. Megan is four years old, Rachel is one year old and they
are anticipating the arrival of their son due in August. April and her family
have a lovely home in Aromas that they have been gradually remodeling since they
moved in. You can see that April has her hands full keeping up with her growing
family. April is one of the kindest, most considerate people that you will ever
know.
Leslie Hall, Registered Dental Hygienist
Leslie has been working with us since 1999. She graduated
from Cabrillo College's Dental Hygiene Program in 1996. Leslie is very outgoing,
friendly and extremely organized. She is a very knowledgeable and thorough
hygienist with a calm, soothing demeanor that truly helps patients relax. She
provides each and every patient with the best possible care and is excellent at
educating her patients on how to keep their teeth and gums in great health.
Leslie met her husband, Sean in 1997 and they were married in 2000. Leslie and
Sean have two children. Sam is four years old and Natalie is two. Leslie and her
family moved into a lovely home in Toro Park in 2005 and always seem to have a
new project to work on there. Even with all the demands on her time, Leslie
always seems to find time for friends and volunteering with our local Dental
Hygiene Association.
Shelly Evans, Registered Dental Hygienist
Shelly has been working with us since 2000, but worked
with Dr. Dale Glasco prior to our purchasing his practice, for 12 years. She
graduated from Cabrillo College's Dental Hygiene Program in 1987. Shelly offers
a boundless compassion for her patients as well as a thoroughness that is
unsurpassed. She is passionate about treating her patients in a comprehensive
manner. Shelly's outgoing personality and great sense of humor put patients
immediately at ease. She is always laughing and enjoying life.
Shelly and her husband, Mark, have been married since 1988. Shelly and Mark have
two boys. Matthew is fifteen years old and Gregory is ten. Shelly and her family
live in Watsonville, but she enjoys her patients so much that she is happy to
commute to work. When not working, Shelly enjoys spending time with her boys,
camping, and working on investment real estate with Mark.
Kristie Miller, Registered Dental Hygienist
Kristie started in our office as a Dental Assistant
Intern in 2003. She worked for us as a Registered Dental Assistant for a short
time, then went to dental hygiene school in the valley and since then has
returned to work for us as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Kristie is really
energetic and has a great time getting to know her patients. It is common to
find her patients laughing like they are visiting an old friend rather than
their Dental Hygienist. She is a breath of fresh air and a lot of fun to work
with.
Kristie married her long time boyfriend, Greg, in 2005. She and Greg own a home
in Prunedale and spend lots of time with family and friends enjoying it. Kristie
lives an extremely healthy lifestyle and enjoys exercising and eating right.
Kristie also has an identical twin, who just recently became a Dental Hygienist
as well.
Ana Argueta, Registered Dental Hygienist
Ana has worked for us off and on for over twenty years.
She started working in our office as a Registered Dental Assistant and after
several years returned to work as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated
from Cabrillo College's Dental Hygiene Program in 1992. Ana is extremely
dedicated to the care and well being of her patients. She is one of the most
positive people that you will come across in your life. She has an amazing faith
and is a complete joy to be around. When you see Ana, you are treated like you
are the only person in the world because she is so focused on you and what she
can do to help you.
Ana married her high school sweetheart, Javier, in 1992. Ana and Javier have two
gorgeous daughters. Arianna is thirteen years old and Deneen is nine. When not
working, Ana is studying and preparing for the Nursing Program or spending time
with her family. Ana has such incredible love and compassion for people that she
wants to be able to help them medically as well as dentally. She will be
completing her nursing studies in 2009, but plans to continue treating her
patients here as well as working in the medical field.
Paula Baeza, Registered Dental Assistant
Paula has been with us for eight years. She graduated
from Monterey Peninsula College with her associate of science degree in 1997.
She is one of our excellent registered dental assistants. Some of you may have
already had the opportunity to work with Paula and we're sure that you would
agree that she is one of the most cheerful and fun people to be around that you
will ever meet. She is always quick to establish a good rapport with each
patient, putting people at ease and building friendships at the same time. One
of Paula's favorite things about her job is all of the wonderful patients in our
dental family.
Paula has been married to her high school sweetheart, Johnny, for nine years.
Paula and Johnny have two beautiful children. Serenity is eight years old and
Jonah is five. Paula is currently taking night classes at Hartnell College to
prepare her for the Registered Nursing Program. She hopes to become a Visiting
Nurse after graduating from the Nursing Program, but until that time she plans
to continue working with us and our awesome patients.
Griselda Cobos, Registered Dental Assistant
Griselda has been with us for three years and has been
working in the dental field for ten years. She, like all of our amazing
registered dental assistants, holds certifications in Radiology, Pit and Fissure
Sealant Placement, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. She has an amazing willing
spirit to pitch in and help whenever any one of our team members needs her.
Griselda has such a calm and confident way about her that you can't help but
feel that you are in very capable hands. She says that she loves working here
because of the comfortable family atmosphere in our office.
Griselda married her high school sweetheart, Angel, in 1998. Griselda and Angel
have two darling children. Karissa is seven years old and Izaiah is six.
Griselda and her family have a lovely home in Soledad, but much of her time is
spent taxiing her children around to different after school activities. When not
at work, Griselda takes classes at Monterey Peninsula College preparing for
dental hygiene school. She also spends a lot of time watching her children play
baseball.
Keri Holt, Registered Dental Assistant
Keri is our newest employee and we are all excited to
have her. She started in our office in the spring of 2006 as a Dental Assistant
Intern and has returned to work as a Registered Dental Assistant. Keri is one of
the sweetest people that we know. We are glad that she joined our dental team
because of her willing "can do" attitude and her genuine interest in the well
being of our patients.
When not working, Keri takes night classes to continue her education. She also
loves spending time with her sister and two year old niece, who is the true love
of her life. Keri is a joy to be around and we hope that you take the
opportunity to meet her.
Marla Tillery, Office Manager and Registered Dental
Hygienist
Marla graduated from Cabrillo College in 1992 and has
been working with us since then. She started as a registered dental hygienist
and eventually changed to a management position. She has managed our office
since we moved from our old location in 1999. Marla has been instrumental in
designing our home-like atmosphere as well as setting up the systems that keep
our office running in an efficient manner. If ever a problem arises that our
patients or staff need extra help with, Marla is the person to go to.
Marla has been married for fourteen years to her high school sweetheart, Eric.
She and Eric have two daughters. Allie is four years old and Lauren, who is two.
They are the love of Eric and Marla's lives. Marla has been actively involved in
Allie's preschool and when not working enjoys cooking, baking, decorating,
gardening and general homemaking. Marla and her family moved to a new home in
2005 and have been busy remodeling it to fit their needs.
Terry Carter, Patient Coordinator
Terry is the first person that you meet when entering or
calling our office. She has been working with us since 2000, but worked with Dr.
Dale Glasco prior to our purchasing his practice, for over 20 years. Terry has
two grown children and one brand new granddaughter. Her daughter, Kristie is a
dental hygienist in Monterey and is married to a General Contractor. Kristie and
Bret are thrilled with the arrival of their first child, Delaney Catherine, on
April 7th. Terry's son, Mark married his long time sweetheart, Hillary last
summer. Mark works in the technology field at the Naval Post Graduate School and
Hillary works in the produce industry. When not working, Terry enjoys spending
time with friends and family, hiking, shopping, dining out, going to the movies
or just generally enjoying life. Terry is one of the most energetic, positive
and enthusiastic people that you will ever meet. We are very fortunate to have
her as our "office concierge".
Nicole Echeverri, Financial Coordinator
Nicole has been working with us since 2001. She started
working in our office as a registered dental assistant and then in 2004 moved to
a position at the reception desk and has come to be in charge of handling all
patient insurance issues and financial matters. Nicole is very detail oriented
and excellent at helping our patients make the most of their dental insurance
benefits, while offering creative financing options. Nicole met her husband,
Allan in 1986 and they were married in 1990. Nicole and Allan have one daughter.
Nichelle is fifteen years old and is a freshman at Salinas High School. She
absolutely loves all things volleyball. When not working, Nicole enjoys spending
time with her family, RVing, water-skiing, riding quads and generally enjoying
the outdoors. Nicole is one of the most versatile people that you will know and
has done a great job of educating herself on dental insurance and finance. We
are very fortunate to have her as a key member of our team.
