Composite Bonding

Artistic Dental Bonding is a cosmetic dental technique that the team at Romie Lane Dental Group use to improve the appearance of your teeth. The term “composite” refers to a natural tooth-colored blend of resin materials which are artfully applied to an existing tooth.

Bonding is an inexpensive solution for restoring cracked or chipped teeth, hiding staining on the tooth’s surface, or hiding the gaps between anteriorteeth. Whatever the specific intent, composite bonding creates more visually attractive teeth and a more brilliant smile.

Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding requires little grinding down of the original tooth. Tooth-colored fillings (bonding) can also effectively handle cavities without having to destroy large amounts of the existing tooth structure. Not only do you not have those unsightly amalgam fillings, you also have a tooth that is restored more effectively.

The thin coating of resin material lasts for up to 10 years and will produce one or all of the following results:

  • Restore decayed teeth.
  • Restore cracked or chipped teeth.
  • Lighten discolored teeth.
  • Close gaps between teeth.
  • Enhance a tooth’s length or shape.
  • Protect the tooth’s root if receding gums have exposed it.
